WENDY EISENBERG is a guitarist, vocalist, improviser, composer and poet currently based in Boston. Educated as a jazz guitarist at the Eastman School of Music, she performs jazz, avant garde and free improvisation; noise; and rock music. She received her masters in music from New England Conservatory concentrating on Contemporary Improvisation. She has studied under Joe Morris, Dominique Eade, Anthony Coleman, Bob Sneider, Paul Wingo, and Carla Kihlstedt. Wendy has also premiered works by Maria Schneider, Jennifer Bellor, Jake Bellissimo and Matt Curlee as well as the work of countless peers. Wendy was honored to perform the music of John Zorn at “A 35 Year Retrospective of theMusic of John Zorn”at Jordan Hall in November 2014. This concert was repeated by invitation of John Zorn on December 7, 2014 at The Stone in New York City. Wendy was among the few musicians to perform a piece of her own at this show.

Wendy has performed in NYC at Cornelia Street Cafe, The Stone, and The Blue Note; in Washington, D.C. at The Kennedy Center, Blues Alley and Twins Jazz, in Baltimore at Bertha’s Mussels and An die Musik; Rochester, NY at Kilbourn Hall, Eastman Theatre, and countless rock venues therein, and, more currently in Boston at The Midway Cafe, The Lilypad, The Curry House, and New England Conservatory’s Jorsdan Hall; and with people as diverse as Mike Stern, Dave Rivello and Bill Holman, Ted Reichman, and Harold Danko. Wendy performs as Wendy Alembic and is currently in the bands “Birthing Hips,” “A Victory for Upfish,” and Cricket .””Earth Science” appeared at the 2014 Rochester International Jazz Fest in June 2014.

Her poetry has been set into vocal works and published in Canto Magazine.
