Shakespeare on Demand | Knighthorse Theatre Co
April 2, 2017 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
All the library’s a stage! April is the Bard’s birthday month, and the Brookline Public Library is celebrating with a host of presentations, interactive performances, and films.
This kickoff event is an interactive show in the Brookline Village Library by the Knighthorse Theatre Company—with plays suggested by the audience and roles for the entire family.
This event is part of the Spring in to Summer with Shakespeare series! All events are free and open to the public, and are supported by the Staff Programming Committee and the Trustees of the Brookline Library.
Knighthorse specializes in creating original adaptions of Shakespeare: one or two actors on a bare stage with simple costumes and few props – playing ALL the parts. We take Shakespeare’s 400 year-old text and massage it to create something new. While his words and characters remain essentially unchanged, in our very capable and respectful hands, his plays get a mini-makeover in order to facilitate this minimalistic and highly imaginative delivery.
