Mission Statement

ArtsBrookline promotes art and supports artists in the Brookline community by identifying places and opportunities for artistic expression in Brookline, leasing affordable art studio workspaces in Brookline, delivering arts-centered public education, cultivating equitable access to the arts and art marketplaces, and encouraging public dialogue and education about the historical and ongoing value of the arts as an essential part of a healthy, thriving community.

Goals:

  • Advance Brookline as an arts destination
  • Support diverse artistic expression and inclusive access to arts production
  • Promote and enable affordable access to art workspaces in Brookline
  • Support the presentation and marketing of artistic production by Brookline artists
  • Broaden public perception of and support for the arts within Brookline
  • Advocate for and generate public interest in diverse forms of artistic expression
  • Build alliances with local organizations and businesses to promote the arts in Brookline

Specific programs through fundraising and fee based non-profit services:

  • Operate Station Street Studios, a marketplace and affordable workplace for artists working or living in Brookline
  • Sponsor inclusive group shows and pop-up markets in Brookline
  • Generate resources and support for a Brookline Village Cultural District
  • Sponsor the Coolidge Corner Arts Festival
  • Sponsor public art in Brookline in collaboration with other public arts efforts
  • Sponsor Brookline Porch Fest and other free or low-cost performing arts events
  • Sponsor teaching for artists on effective promotional methods and arts-related business skills necessary for professional development
  • Generate accessible virtual and in-person arts educational programs
  • Identify venues in Brookline for local artists seeking to present visual and performing art
  • Act as liaison between artists, markets, and business communities
  • Provide direct promotional support for artists
