Clever and cunning, grotesque and gruesome . . . gargoyles! From Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris to the Chrysler Building in New York City, each of these fantastic creatures has a different character, and their images have inspired composers throughout the ages.
Join pianist Elizabeth Chladil and flutist Weronika Balewski for an interactive concert, featuring works by Lowell Liebermann: Gargoyles, Op. 29 for solo piano, and Sonata for Flute and Piano, Op. 23. The audience will discover different ways of perceiving music through movement and listening activities.
Recommended for ages 6 and up.
